About
ANSON
CARTER
Anson
Carter is a big man with a big voice and he fronts a
band with a sound that’s as deep and wide as the Texas
landscape he loves. Carter became an underground
phenomenon in 2007, when he cut the anthemic ode to
Corpus Christi’s favorite fast food “Whataburger
#5.” Carter’s bold vocal style and the song’s
punchy rhythm track made fans out of everyone who heard
it.Carter’s new album, 100 Degrees In The Shade, was
an in house effort. Carter collaborated with fellow
musician, Mike Bowen, and produced it together. “We
started recording in October of 2010,” Carter
explains. “It took us almost a year to complete, not
because we were being picky, but because my touring and
work schedules limited us to a couple of hours a
week. The energy Carter and the band put into their shows
is evident on every track. “One of Those Days,” a
mid-tempo rocker and the album’s first single. The
song looks back on a summer full of home runs, dips in
the creek and slow dances with your sweetie.
