In his new single, Jon Brewer tells a story of enduring friendship & great loss as only this Texas songwriter can.  "Jake's Song" is the follow up single of the Texas Radio top 50, "Texas Corn" and again, Jon Brewer proves to weave a compelling story that leaves a lasting impression.  Participating in his parent’s band, Cherokee Country, at the early age of four, Jon grew up with music all around him. At eleven, his dad taught him to play the guitar and at fifteen, with the encouragement of a teacher, Jon translated his passion for poetry and stories into well crafted songwriting. Jon identifies most with his writing side, and writes best when there's a lot in him that needs to come out. Most of the songs you hear from Jon are from times when something significant has happened in his life.  Nothing illustrates Jon’s modest and unassuming outlook – qualities that make his songs so relatable for so many listeners - more than the story of his first professional gig. With some coffeehouse gigs as his only experience, Jon was invited to join some friends on the stage of the award-winning Firehouse Saloon during their encore performance. As he stepped down from the stage after performing, Jon just knew he was in a world of trouble as he watched the venue owner quickly approaching. Quite to the contrary, he wanted to lock in a date for Jon to perform a full set of his own!  Born and raised in Houston, Jon has recently returned to his hometown after spending time in New Braunfels. Jon will be touring several cities in Texas, performing live and introducing his second single, “Jake’s Song,” which is also featured in his debut music video.
